We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant Professor to join our team at the Center for Health Outcomes and Informatics Research (CHOIR) at Loyola University Chicago. The successful candidate will provide biostatistical support on grant applications, work closely with faculty to develop predictive models, and perform data exploration for hypothesis generation and knowledge discovery.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide biostatistical support on grant applications and research projects
* Develop predictive and prescriptive models from large, heterogeneous data sets using statistical, machine learning, and other advanced data science methods
* Perform data exploration of large data sets for hypothesis generation and knowledge discovery
* Support applications for external funding, including developing and writing data science methodology in grant proposals
* Develop algorithms and software for health care analytics
Requirements
* Doctorate in Data Science or related field
* 3-5 years of experience as a biostatistician, data scientist
* Past experience as co-investigator on federally funded projects
Preferred Qualifications
* 6-10 years of experience as a data scientist
* Proficiency with statistical packages such as SAS or R
* Proficiency with high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, etc.
* Proficiency with modern data science tools such as Tensorflow, Keras, etc.
