Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team at GFL Environmental. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for operating front-end trucks that provide services to multi-family residential and commercial routes.
About the Role:
- Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
- Open container enclosures or gates to access cans, and roll them into position for dumping.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, and complete a vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.
- Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public to answer questions or respond to requests.
- Clean loose trash off the truck and/or ground around the truck and container that spills during dumping.
- Maintain and submit a logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report as required by law or company policy.
- Maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors to back up.
- Use a key map and GPS to locate service addresses.
- Follow safe operating practices, including lock out/tag out procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck.
- Monitor operations to detect loose debris, and visually scan customer sites before and after dumping.
- Follow all safety standards, equipment checks, and precautions in performance of all duties.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of one year commercial truck driving experience or CDL school certificate.
- Ability to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on location and experience.
Working Conditions:
- Frequently exposed to loud noise, humidity, rainy/stormy weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Work in outdoor environment up to 100% of the time.
- Occasionally work in high precarious places.
