Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their maximum potential and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Excellence/Patient Care
    • Conduct thorough patient examinations, gathering comprehensive data to inform treatment plans
    • Evaluate patient needs, developing personalized plans to address functional limitations and promote independence
    • Collaborate with patients and families to set and achieve realistic goals, ensuring optimal outcomes
    • Develop and implement effective interventions, leveraging expertise in occupational therapy to enhance patient function and quality of life
    • Provide education and training to patients and families, empowering them to manage their care and make informed decisions
    • Document patient progress, communicating effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Program and Professional Development
    • Provide clinical supervision to students and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and growth
    • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and task forces, contributing to the development of innovative solutions and best practices
    • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with industry trends and advancements to enhance patient care and outcomes

    Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
    • Current licensure in good standing to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Iowa
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within three months of hire
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with ease
