About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at SUNY Upstate Medical University. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our physicians to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Job Summary
This per diem position involves providing primary and specialty care to patients in various settings, including office hours, evenings, and weekends. You will be responsible for triaging patients, conducting exams, diagnosing and treating conditions, and performing therapeutic duties such as injections, wound care, and immunizations.
Responsibilities
- Triage patients and conduct exams to diagnose and treat conditions
- Provide primary and specialty care to patients in various settings
- Perform therapeutic duties such as injections, wound care, and immunizations
- Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice)
- NPI number and Medicare Enrollment with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR eligibility for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire
- Initial certification present or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's Degree and National Certification through AANP or ANCC (for NPs) or graduation from an accredited PA program and National Certification through NCCPA (for PAs) are preferred.
Work Environment
This is a per diem position, and your work schedule will vary based on the needs of the organization. You will be working in a fast-paced medical environment and will need to be able to adapt quickly to changing situations.
Salary Information
The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $147,004, depending on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations. This salary range is based on full-time employment and would be prorated accordingly for less than full-time employment.
