Position Overview:
The Construction Equipment Specialist is responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to manage and transport scrap metal materials within the facility. This role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency while ensuring that all equipment is maintained in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts, front-end loaders, material handlers, and excavators, in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Identify and categorize various grades of scrap metal, accurately reporting findings to the Load Inspector and Scale Operator.
  • Assist in managing traffic flow within the facility to facilitate efficient unloading processes.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and reports related to daily operations.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines and productivity goals.
  • Perform general site cleanup and equipment washing as required.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Physical requirements include the capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and navigate around equipment for inspection and operation. Previous experience with material handling equipment is advantageous.
