**Job Summary:** We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Program Director to lead our defense innovation efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the defense industry and be able to navigate multiple functions and organizations to ensure successful product lifecycles. Experience working with military organizations, specifically within the United States Department of Defense, is essential. This role will report directly to our Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying market opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Business Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead Generation and Prospecting: Generate leads and prospects through targeted outreach efforts, including industry conferences and digital marketing channels.
  • Proposal Development and Contract Negotiation: Develop compelling proposals and participate in contract negotiations to secure new business opportunities and maximize profitability.
  • Relationship Management and Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers to foster collaboration and drive business growth.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and track key performance metrics to measure progress against business objectives.


Basic Qualifications:


  • At least 8 years of management experience in the defense industry, with a strong command of program management and counter-small UAS experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Extensive background in strategic planning, competitive assessments, and bidding/acquisition of multi-million dollar contracts.
  • Experience working with the Defense and Aerospace customer community and serving as a principal point of contact to key military and commercial customers.
  • Management leadership of annual multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in team building and maintenance, and customer relationships.
  • Technical and program leadership experience, with familiarity with the directed energy and weapon systems industry and integrated systems development.


Compensation and Benefits:

We are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits to our employees. For the state of California, the estimated salary range for this role is: $145,200-$187,800 USD.
