NICU Registered Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Stamford Health.

About the Role

This is a per diem opportunity for a skilled RN to provide high-quality patient care, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes for our critically ill newborns.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide individualized care to a select group of patients, advocating on their behalf and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and psychosocial conditions, developing and communicating personalized plans of care to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Education: Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to implement plans of care, providing education as needed to promote patient understanding and empowerment.
  • Crisis Management: Respond effectively to crises, directing others calmly and efficiently while maintaining a focus on patient safety.
  • Evaluation and Documentation: Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of care plans, and readiness for discharge or continuing care, revising plans as needed and documenting all aspects of patient care clearly and concisely.
Requirements
  • Experience: Prior NICU experience is required, with a strong background in delivering high-quality patient care in an acute setting.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Valid license as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut, with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification also required.
  • Certifications: Maintain a minimum of 6 contact hours annually to stay current with industry developments and best practices.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a per diem opportunity, with flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs.
