Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our Supply Chain team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing current practices, standardizing, improving, documenting, and supporting assigned categories throughout the lifecycle of Supply Chain initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of category strategies to drive cost savings and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clinical and administrative leaders.
- Provide expert guidance on contract law and category knowledge to ensure compliance and optimal administration.
- Participate in the development of short-term tactics and long-range plans to secure business and legal interests.
- Lead assigned Value Analysis Teams to provide proactive cost savings, standardization, product conversions, and onboarding of new supplies, implants, devices, equipment, and services.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of Supply Chain experience, with a focus on category management.
- Expertise in vendor negotiation, value analysis, contract management, product conversions, project management, and product standardization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Intermediate level skills with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Adobe, and PDF.
- Experience with Lawson system highly desirable.
