Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Young Men's Christian Association of Wichita Falls. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a daily curriculum that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement curriculum activities and lesson plans that align with state regulations and promote children's development.
  • Use positive guidance techniques to counsel children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise.
  • Keep accurate and current records of each child's developmental milestones, student accidents, and attendance.
  • Establish a developmentally appropriate learning environment in the classroom.
  • Plan and conduct formal and informal parent conferences with the Director's guidance.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers to ensure the implementation of curriculum and a safe and healthy classroom environment.
  • Participate in center events, staff training sessions, and meetings to ensure a high-quality program.
  • Notify the Director of any needed repairs or maintenance to the facility or equipment.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, a CDA, or previous experience working with children in a developmental setting.
  • Meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience.
  • Pass a licensing fingerprint check and maintain current CPR/AED/First Aid and Food Handlers certificates.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental or licensed childcare setting.
  • Ability to implement age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain 30 hours of professional development each year.
