Recreational Therapist

About the Role

CoxHealth is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team. As a Recreational Therapist, you will provide supportive advocacy to patients and their families to overcome barriers to progression-of-care and facilitate a safe and coordinated discharge to the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote patient engagement and empowerment.
• Provide therapeutic recreational activities and interventions to patients with diverse needs and abilities.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient strengths, needs, and goals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and organizations to support patient discharge and transition planning.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Leisure Studies with emphasis on recreational therapy or Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS) certification.
• Previous experience in mental health or age-specific population preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
