About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, including controlled substances, and provide medication instructions to residents.
  • Maintain accurate medication accountability records and prepare related reports.
  • Observe, report, and document residents' conditions, including response to treatment and medication reactions.
  • Provide general nursing, direct care, and programming assistance, including activities of daily living, vital signs, and ambulation.
  • Apply safety and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a license to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing and proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration. Additionally, you must be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent communication skills.
