Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to residents, assessing and evaluating resident needs, preparing and administering prescribed medications, and performing daily rounds. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional nursing care to residents, including assessing and evaluating resident needs, preparing and administering prescribed medications, and performing daily rounds.
  • Observe, assess, and record resident's condition, progress, and response to treatment.
  • Responsible for clinical outcomes and specifically quality measures related to clinical pathways.
  • Provide immediate medical attention to emergencies, including administering first aid and/or CPR.
  • Responsible for resident assessments, including RN-specific resident assessments on admission, re-admission, quarterly, and as needed.
  • Acts as lead worker in charge of day-to-day operations of assigned unit or assigned shift, providing work direction to healthcare staff assigned to area.
  • Schedules, assigns, and reviews work, delegating personnel based on needs of residents and individual capabilities of staff, evaluates staff performance, participates in staff development and education, orients new personnel.
  • Performs related clerical and/or administrative tasks, including charts and records all medications, maintains constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs, medication, and equipment, compiles and/or completes required reports, supervises records maintenance, and arranges appointments with outside medical providers.
  • Participates on committees, including serving as member or leader of problem-solving teams or groups, attends staff and in-service meetings.
Qualifications:

Requires current licensure as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section of Ohio Revised Code.
