As a Medical Technologist at Upstate University Hospital, you will be responsible for performing various automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures in the Core Laboratory. This will include Hematology and Chemistry testing, as well as quality control, preventive maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of testing, including patient results, proficiency testing, and quality control data.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine Hematology and Chemistry testing following established policies and procedures.
- Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance procedures on laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of testing, including patient results, proficiency testing, and quality control data.
- Interact with healthcare providers to discuss test results and laboratory procedures.
- Resolve problems related to testing, procedures, or processes in the laboratory.
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist NYS license or limited permit to practice.
- Two years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Ability to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory testing.
- BS in Medical Technology.
This is a full-time position in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve high-quality results.
