About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Supervisor to join our team at Foundation Health Services. As a key member of our food service department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality meals to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Supervision: Lead and direct the food and nutrition staff in assigned areas or shifts, achieving daily food and nutrition department production and service requirements.
  2. Staff Management: Interview, select, and hire qualified department staff, influence staff turnover, provide formal training, orientation, and on-the-job training, and ensure ongoing competency through coaching and performance evaluations.
  3. Customer Service: Monitor and support department staff to ensure excellent meal service is provided while meeting patient and customer satisfaction goals, and resolve customer problems and support staff development in customer service skills.
  4. Operations and Budgeting: Monitor and control operating expenses and other key indicators within assigned areas/shift to meet budget requirements, and inventory food and supplies in assigned areas, determining ordering and food production quantities based on established par levels and special needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Two or more years of experience and/or education in similar food services management work.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to effectively organize, lead, and supervise work areas and teams.
  • The ability to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Previous supervisory experience and background in healthcare.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish.
  • SERVSAFE certification.
