We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Management Coordinator to join our team at the City of Hermosa Beach. As a key member of our emergency management team, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective emergency preparedness programs and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Emergency Plans: Develop, organize, administer, and maintain the City's emergency and disaster preparedness programs and services.
  • Liaison with External Agencies: Serve as the liaison to various emergency management partners, including neighboring jurisdictions, community organizations, and external agencies.
  • Administer Disaster Relief Claims: Administer and submit all City-related disaster relief and reimbursement claims to state and federal agencies.
  • Technical Support: Provide advanced level technical and analytical support to the Director of Emergency Services during emergency activations.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, disaster management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Four years of increasingly-responsible experience in program development, coordination, and administration in a public or private agency.
  • Certifications: Completion of FEMA IS 100, IS 700, and CSTI G606.
Working Environment:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will also possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Estimated Salary:

$83,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
