About the Role:

The Assistant Director of Nursing will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily operations and care of residents in our Memory Care unit. This role requires a strong leader who can supervise caregivers, complete care plan reviews, and ensure that all caregiving personnel are aware of the care plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation and care of residents in the Memory Care unit
  • Supervise caregivers and on-duty supervisors
  • Complete quarterly and annual care plan reviews for residents in the Memory Care unit
  • Ensure that all caregiving personnel are aware of the care plan and use it in providing daily services to residents
  • Conduct care conferences with families and outside providers as needed
  • Assist with coordinating outside resources for residents
  • Deal with outside contract resources, including pharmacy, primary care providers, and hospice organizations
  • Facilitate new caregiver training and ensure that care staff are properly trained to provide competent, safe resident care
  • Assist in developing and monitoring inventory control procedures
Requirements:
  • Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse license with the State of Alaska
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain before start date
  • Experience caring for patients with dementia
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital, assisted living, long-term care, or other healthcare-related community
  • Ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with PointClickCare EHR system
  • Prior management experience
  • Customer service experience
