Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and evaluate medication prescriptions to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Review and suggest alternative therapies as needed, preparing clinical intervention documentation.
  • Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with professional practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Advise healthcare providers and patients on medication contents, therapeutic action, and potential adverse reactions or interactions.
  • Perform computer order entry functions and control the disposition of narcotics and other controlled substances.
  • Participate in medication safety programs and serve as a role model for customer service.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide training and mentorship to new employees and pharmacy students.
  • Respond to drug information and poison information requests.
  • Prepare dosette and cassette boxes for patients with specific needs.
  • Provide specialist health check services, such as blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring.
  • Sell healthcare and other products, promoting sales and developing the business.
Requirements
  • B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm D degree required.
  • Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of Pennsylvania required.
  • Immunization certification through an accredited organization.
  • A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
