We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiation Therapist to fill the role of Senior Radiation Oncology Department Manager at Intermountain Health. In this position, you will be responsible for leading our radiation therapy department and ensuring that we provide the highest quality patient care while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

About the Role

As a senior manager in our radiation oncology department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing personnel, and serving as a liaison with external vendors. You will also be responsible for evaluating and procuring appropriate par levels for department equipment and supplies, assessing effective and appropriate service needs and volumes, and adjusting staffing levels accordingly.

You will provide information to caregivers and physicians through rounding, huddles, staff meetings, and other forms of communication to relay updates regarding department updates, organizational activities, financial performance, educational opportunities, interdepartmental activities, and QI activities. Additionally, you will manage human resource functions such as interviewing, selection, onboarding, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development.

In this role, you will ensure that equipment is operating properly by manually performing quality assurance and quality control checks, observing monitors and scales to note divergence from expected readings, detecting equipment malfunctions, and determining appropriate action. You will also provide application and execution of ionizing radiation in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the radiation oncologist and accurately document treatment set-ups, doses, and calculations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited radiation therapy program, preferably with a Baccalaureate Degree in Radiation Therapy Technology. You must also be a registered member in good standing of the ARRT in radiation therapy or registry eligible, have a current license in the state of Wyoming, and hold current BLS certification or be able to obtain it prior to starting the job.

A minimum of three years of experience as a Radiation Therapist is required, with a minimum of two years of previously related leadership and/or management experience preferred.
