Senior Substation Specialist

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the organization, this individual will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the specialized fields of substation apparatus, protection and control equipment, or communications equipment.

The successful candidate will act as an expert to personnel in a specialized field, investigating and resolving problem situations or complex issues. They will also facilitate internal training for substation journeyman, relay technicians, or communications technicians.

Key responsibilities include:

• 
  
• Providing technical oversight and guidance to the T&D support staff
  
• Developing and modifying policies and practices to improve the overall operational effectiveness of PacifiCorp's transmission and distribution system
  
• Leading development and implementation processes and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness
  
• Evaluating policies, procedures, and other documentation to ensure compliance with company safety procedures, legislative requirements, and NERC reliability standard requirements
  

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 
  
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  
• Minimum of 15 years of industry experience as a substation journeyman, relay technician, communications technician, or T&D Specialist
  
• Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments
  
• Expert knowledge and applications of principles in applicable areas of specialty
  
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization, including people with different styles and backgrounds
  

This is an exempt position that requires a strong understanding of power systems, electrical engineering principles, and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel and possess a high level of professionalism and integrity.
