Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to support our Cardiology team in a part-time capacity. This role will involve performing routine administrative and clinical tasks to maintain the smooth operation of our medical facility.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the healthcare field, preferably in internal medicine, and hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) is also preferred.

The working schedule for this position includes Monday, Tuesday, Friday from 12:30-5:30 PM and Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM-12:30 PM. Our clinic operates with a moderate volume, providing a challenging yet rewarding work environment for our staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support physicians and medical staff
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, particularly eClinical Works
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies for proper authorizations
  • Escort patients to exam rooms for history, vitals, medications, ECGs, etc.
  • Handle telephone and messaging follow-ups appropriately
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
