Job Summary and Qualifications

Role Summary

As a Food Service Associate, you will be responsible for various tasks within the Food Service Department, including:

  • Serving meals to cafeteria patrons and ensuring knowledge of menu items to assist customers.
  • Setting up and managing designated positions in the cafeteria or tray line.
  • Preparing and labeling food items accurately.
  • Maintaining appropriate food temperatures and keeping detailed records.
  • Ensuring cleanliness in the kitchen and adhering to food safety protocols.
  • Operating dishwashing equipment and managing waste disposal.
  • Following hygiene and infection control standards in food handling.
  • Managing cash transactions as a cafeteria cashier.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 6 months in food service.

Knowledge: Familiarity with kitchen sanitation, dishwashing, and cash register operations.

Education: At least a 10th-grade education; High School diploma or GED preferred.

Certifications: Current ServSafe Food Handler Permit or equivalent required within 7 days of hire.
