Job Description

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Montpelier, VT. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
Benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus of up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign on bonus of $1750 at 30 days and $1750 at 90 days
  • Four 10 hour days, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday
  • Second shift Sunday 10:00am - 8:00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Friday 12:00pm - 10:00pm
