The Lead Radiation Therapy Specialist, under the guidance of the Director of Medical Physics, is responsible for the continuous leadership during shifts and the overall management of the Radiation Oncology unit.

This role involves direct oversight of radiation therapy technologists, ensuring efficient patient workflow, providing education to technologists as needed, and delivering patient care while administering radiation therapy, in addition to fulfilling technical duties as scheduled.

Applicants should be graduates of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program and hold ARRT certification as a registered radiation therapy technologist. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Key Qualifications:

  • In-depth technical knowledge of radiation therapy apparatus
  • Understanding of human Anatomy and Physiology
  • Familiarity with treatment positioning and medical terminology
  • Awareness of radiation therapy quality assurance and control standards
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications

SUPERVISORY STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to: Director / Manager of Medical Physics

Physical demands include lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients or equipment exceeding 50 lbs. Normal hearing and visual acuity are required.
