Our workforce consists of over 500 skilled professionals based in Virginia.
The Engineering Technician II plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations and upkeep of manufacturing machinery and processes involved in the production of night vision image intensifiers. This position is hands-on, with the technician expected to spend more than 80% of their time engaging directly with equipment and operators, as well as constructing and repairing mechanical tools and addressing non-conforming products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize manufacturing processes and implement cost-saving measures, including yield and productivity enhancements and waste reduction.
- Train production staff to refine work processes and elevate product quality.
- Strive to minimize or eliminate issues related to safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production.
- Associate's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of technical experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience in training others.
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
- Compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and Company Policies.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts.
- Experience in the assembly, review, and inspection of mechanical components.
- Familiarity with ultra-high vacuum systems.
- Experience in cleanroom operations.
- Ability to write MS Access queries.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP.
- Experience in coding and scripting languages (e.g., Visual Studio, C#, Python).
- Background in process improvement methodologies.
- Six Sigma certification (Yellow, Green, or Black Belt).
- Various shifts available, including off-shifts and flexible engineering schedules.
