Role Summary:
This position plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of Continuous Improvement strategies aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing losses across various locations within The Wonderful Company. The Lean Improvement Specialist will also be tasked with training and mentoring teams on PDCA projects and lean methodologies to refine our operational processes. This individual will offer expertise in advanced problem-solving and process enhancement tools and techniques across our sites.

Key Projects:
The team is currently engaged in several exciting initiatives, including:

  • Creating innovative training programs.
  • Implementing Daily Direction Setting in facilities to empower teams in establishing daily objectives, monitoring progress, and swiftly addressing challenges, resulting in streamlined operations.
  • Introducing autonomous maintenance practices to boost equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and cultivate a sense of ownership among operators, leading to enhanced productivity and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Training and Mentorship: Educate, guide, and challenge process owners in the application of lean tools and methodologies to establish sustainable management and measurement systems.
  • Facilitation of Lean Tools: Support teams in utilizing Lean Tools, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, and PDCA/Problem Solving Process, while identifying areas of waste.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee multiple projects to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes utilizing both internal and external resources.
  • Process Enhancement: Analyze production methods and processes to identify opportunities for improvements that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.
  • Best Practices: Proactively seek and implement best practices across various sites.

Travel Requirements:
Travel primarily within California, with occasional trips as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in an operations role (such as Continuous Improvement, Production, or Quality).
  • Proven understanding of World Class Manufacturing principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Certification or substantial experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma is advantageous.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in change management practices.

Compensation:
Base Salary: $110,000, with potential for a discretionary bonus based on skills and experience.
