Job Overview

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is in search of a Culinary Specialist responsible for preparing and cooking meals, maintaining health and safety protocols, and managing inventory effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Upholding safe and sanitary conditions within the kitchen, dining area, and associated storage spaces.

2. Keeping an accurate and current inventory of all food items and supplies.

3. Adhering to menu specifications, ensuring timely meal preparation and service, and properly rotating food items to minimize waste.

4. Conducting daily checks of freezers and refrigerators to ensure the security and integrity of kitchen stock.

5. Supporting the Kitchen Supervisor in maintaining attendance records for kitchen staff.

6. Assisting in the planning and estimation of food quantities as required.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant culinary experience, knowledge of kitchen operations, and proficiency in food preparation for large groups. Additionally, the ability to follow instructions, lead a team, and hold a ServSafe certification is essential.
