Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Spot Welder/Drill and Tap to join our team at Atonne Group, Inc. as a Metal Fabrication Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for executing spot welding operations to fabricate assemblies, using jigs and fixtures. You will also drill holes and tap as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and plan daily/weekly work schedule with supervisor, addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and spot welding.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
  • Bolt and clamp using jigs and fixtures to secure parts in position for spot welding.
  • Set up equipment and spot weld parts, using resistance welding equipment.
  • Check, test, and/or sort parts before and/or after spot welding and report any irregularities.
  • Drill and deburr holes to correct size and taps and inspect holes per requirements.
  • Accurately record production data such as quality, labor reporting, manufacturing time, scrap, and downtime information.
Requirements
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required, normally acquired through high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in welding.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery, and blueprint reading, normally acquired through 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, with acute attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools, and computers.
  • Observance and adherence to company policies.
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and lead personnel to complete production requirements to service the customer.
  • Strong teamwork orientation; willing to train or assist other, less experienced operators.
  • Punctual and dependable, placing high priority on producing throughout scheduled hours and excellent attendance.
Working Conditions
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and protective shoes/boots.
  • Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
  • Employees must demonstrate physical ability to work in a standing position, between 8-12 hours per day.
