Role Summary:
As a Lead Visual Effects Artist at Snail Games USA, you will be instrumental in crafting captivating and dynamic visual effects that elevate the gaming experience. Collaborating closely with our creative director, game developers, and fellow artists, you will take charge of designing, executing, and fine-tuning a diverse array of visual effects, such as particle systems, explosions, lasers, smoke, fire, and more. Your technical prowess, artistic insight, and team-oriented approach will be crucial in defining the visual style of our games and engaging players globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement visually striking and realistic visual effects, including particle systems, explosions, lasers, smoke, fire, and other dynamic components.
- Write and optimize shaders, scenes, and collision systems to ensure peak performance and visual fidelity.
- Utilize Blueprints, Unreal Engine's visual scripting language, to create intricate visual effects systems and gameplay features.
- Design real-time simulations and integrate particle effects into dynamic game events to enhance player immersion and interaction.
- Collaborate with fellow artists and team members to produce custom art assets and ensure seamless integration into the game engine.
- Create holographic effects and incorporate them into procedural interactive experiences to enrich gameplay and immersion.
- Refine visual effects based on stakeholder feedback, iterating designs to align with artistic, thematic, and gameplay objectives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, techniques, and tools relevant to visual effects, game development, and emerging technologies.
- Share knowledge and insights with the team, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our visual effects pipeline and processes.
Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio demonstrating technical visual effects skills and creative vision.
- Proficiency in coding, with experience in writing and optimizing shaders, scenes, and collision systems.
- Advanced expertise in Unreal Engine, including Blueprints and other pertinent tools.
- Experience in creating real-time simulations and integrating particle effects into dynamic events.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a passion for exploring the possibilities of visual effects.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Animation, or a related field.
Salary Range: $100,500 - $125,000 annually. Exact compensation will be determined based on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
