Position Summary:

The role involves ensuring that molding machines and associated equipment are maintained effectively and producing high-quality components efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mold setup and adjustments on molding and assembly equipment, troubleshoot issues, conduct minor repairs, and execute quality checks.
  • Handle material management, including filling and emptying machine hoppers and grinders, while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
  • Verify machine setup parameters and operational conditions, ensuring all monitors are functioning correctly.
  • Monitor machine cycle times and yields, ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
  • Maintain accurate setup sheets and production records for each shift.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and safety protocols are followed, with the authority to halt production due to quality concerns.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and assist in training material handlers and operators as necessary.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives and ergonomic improvements as required.
  • Complete all assigned tasks diligently.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 1-2+ years of experience as a Setup Technician in a plastic injection molding environment is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment operations and repairs, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with Wittmann robots is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, including Lockout/Tagout and Forklift operations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull molds with mechanical assistance, with specific vision abilities required for this role.
  • Frequent walking and the ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl in or under machinery are necessary.
