Bridge Crewmember Job Overview

As a Bridge Crewmember with the US Army DFW, you will play a critical role in constructing, inspecting, and operating temporary bridges around the world. This dynamic position requires a unique blend of skills, including heavy equipment operation, boat operation, and construction expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct and inspect temporary bridges in various environments
  • Operate heavy equipment and boats to establish secure crossings
  • Maintain and repair bridges to ensure safe passage

Training and Development:

You will attend a 14-week paid training program to gain the necessary skills and certifications in construction, engineering, maintenance, repairs, boat operations, and heavy equipment operations. Advanced certifications require additional fully funded training programs.

Pay and Promotion:

Entry pay and promotions vary based on education level and qualifications. Hiring bonus opportunities are available, as well as specialty bonuses depending on qualifications and position. Guaranteed promotion opportunities are also available.
