Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing psychosocial assessment and counseling services to patients and their families. Your expertise will help us deliver exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify patients' needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to patients and their families, addressing a range of issues, including coping with illness, managing stress, and navigating the healthcare system.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and develop discharge plans that meet patients' needs.
  • Participate in unit-based interdepartmental meetings to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Supervise social work interns and provide guidance and support to help them develop their skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest quality care.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a recognized college or university program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • New York State licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or a New York Education Department-issued limited permit.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or health-related organization is preferred.
