About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our team at Ensono. As a Mainframe Systems Programmer, you will play a critical role in supporting the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and system software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Debugging: Ensure the smooth operation of systems software, identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with other technical teams, including CICS, Database, Network, Hardware/Storage, to accomplish assigned tasks and drive project success.
  • Research and Evaluation: Conduct thorough research and evaluation of new software and hardware products to recommend the best solutions for our clients.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to team members and other areas, resolving complex issues and improving overall system performance.
  • System Tuning: Monitor and tune systems software to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a mainframe environment within a large enterprise.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge across multiple Mainframe teams, including CICS, Database, Network, and Hardware/Storage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documents for clients.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and provide exceptional support.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mainframe System Programmer Skills: Ability to perform the skills of a Mainframe System Programmer, including complex ISV installations and project leadership.
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor and show leadership qualities, with a strong desire to grow and develop as a professional.
