Powers Health Ultrasound Tech Job Description

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will work under the supervision of the Special Imaging Supervisor/Director of Imaging Services and the clinical direction of the Radiology Medical Director. The technologist will perform diagnostic procedures at a technical level as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Requirements:
  • Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of an accredited allied medical health field, including coursework in anatomy and physiology.
  • One year of specialized training/experience to acquire a suitable knowledge of anatomy and physiology and in-depth knowledge of sonography theory and expertise in scanning procedures and technique.
  • Registered or meets eligibility requirements to sit for an examination by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for Neonates, Infants, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients/family served.

Continuing education credits must be obtained as required by RDMS.
