Job Summary

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will be part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment, utilizing various scientific principles, therapies, and techniques to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medication, airway clearance, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and bedside spirometry, in partnership with attending physicians and care teams.
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in emergency situations.
  • Adhere to established policies, including infection control and isolation policies, HIPAA, time and attendance, and social media.
  • Collaborate with peers and patients to maintain a positive work environment and outcomes.
  • Emphasize continuous quality improvement in clinical care, identifying, executing, and sharing opportunities to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • General knowledge of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment, and medications.
  • Able to read, write, and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • General computer skills, including data entry, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand-held scanning, and email.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP): Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT): Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board Respiratory Care.
