Job Description
The Principal System Engineer (Propulsion & Pneumatics) will lead the design, integration, and testing of aircraft propulsion and pneumatic systems. This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ownership of system-level designs, and oversight of testing, validation, and integration activities across the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will develop system architectures, conduct performance simulations, and certify propulsion and pneumatic subsystems to ensure they meet mission-critical requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop Propulsion and Pneumatics System Architectures: From operational concept through detailed design using advanced modeling tools.
  • Oversee System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of propulsion and pneumatic systems with other aircraft subsystems.
  • Manage Requirements: Lead the parsing, derivation, and allocation of functional requirements, leveraging tools like DOORS and Rhapsody.
  • Conduct Risk Analysis and Mitigation: Identify risks and create mitigation strategies to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Perform Verification and Validation (V&V): Conduct system-level V&V to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with engineers, testers, and program managers to achieve program milestones and deliverables.
  • Lead Certification Efforts: Guide propulsion and pneumatic systems through certification processes, ensuring compliance with FAA and DoD requirements.

Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in propulsion and pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience. Key qualifications include demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices, experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams, and a thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles.

Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is $$220,000. SNC offers an attractive compensation package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
