Position Overview
As a Petroleum Terminal Operations Trainee, you will support the Terminal Manager in the receipt and shipment of petroleum products through various transportation methods, including pipelines, railcars, and trucks. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency and safety of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in unloading petroleum and non-petroleum fuels from railcars and managing facility tankage products.
2. Ensure optimal production quality and quantity while adhering to company policies and objectives.
3. Support operations, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance in the absence of the Terminal Manager.
4. Perform loading and unloading activities at the Truck Rack, Railcar, and Dock, contributing to operational efficiency.
Essential Duties
- Operate and maintain processes related to product storage and unloading.
- Unload renewable fuels from railcars and conduct quality control sampling.
- Inspect railcars for defects and manage necessary documentation.
- Prepare daily inventory and accounting reports using the Terminal Automation System.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree or technical school graduate preferred.
- No prior experience necessary; however, 1 year of experience in Control Center, Pipeline, or Terminal operations is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Physical Requirements
The role involves regular walking, sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
