Position Overview:
The Aircraft Structure Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and quality of our airframe assembly processes. This position involves a range of inspection tasks, from routine checks to complex evaluations, aimed at enhancing production efficiency and quality standards. The inspector will also mentor new team members and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of structural assemblies and subassemblies, both in progress and completed.
- Utilize technical drawings and specifications to verify compliance and accuracy.
- Perform continuity checks on ongoing work and finalize inspections on completed tasks.
- Execute quality control measures in line with established specifications.
- Adhere to approved inspection protocols, consulting FAA regulations and OEM technical data as necessary.
- Identify and document any discrepancies, ensuring that all components meet required standards before approval.
- Complete necessary documentation in accordance with internal quality assurance processes.
- Review assembly work for compliance with airworthiness standards.
- Monitor the airframe assembly process, documenting and auditing in real-time.
- Proactively address inspection needs within the Airframe Assembly team.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Familiarity with composite part fabrication.
- Ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of machinery and tools, including their operation and maintenance.
- Proficient in the use of pneumatic hand tools and related equipment.
- Understanding of production processes, quality control measures, and cost-effective manufacturing techniques.
Working Conditions:
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
Preferred Experience:
- Three years of experience in aircraft composite assembly, mechanical assembly, or aircraft structures.
- Familiarity with paste and secondary bonded structures.
- A&P certification and mechanical experience are advantageous.
