Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Control Technician to join our team at the PGS Gardendale Stabilizer Facility in Cotulla, Texas. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and non-scheduled electrical and instrument maintenance and repairs on plant and pipeline equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, calibrate, repair, install, and modify process controls, control valves, safety devices, analyzers, PLC's, field instrumentation, and other equipment and systems.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) and company policies/procedures as they relate to the operation/maintenance of the facility.
  • Responsible for completing and maintaining required documentation and records for all work performed.
  • Work with outside vendors to troubleshoot various equipment.
  • Maintain facility documentation (P&ID, loop sheets, spec sheets, etc.) for approved changes.
  • Work and communicate safely and effectively with field operations, fellow employees, contractors, and the general public.
  • Comply with all environmental, health, and safety-related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical degree with 2 years related field work experience or 4+ years E&I experience in a plant environment.
  • Read and interpret manuals, policies, engineering standards, regulations, drawings, and schematics to troubleshoot and solve production problems.
  • General plant and pipeline knowledge with medium voltage equipment working experience.
  • Be a self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Take ownership in your work as well as in the facility as a whole.
  • Be a team player with a strong work ethic with the demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision.
  • Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Office Software.
  • Knowledgeable in use of Maximo or other CMMS programs.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs.
  • Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Ability to learn the Stabilizer process to function as a relief operator as required.
  • Ability to oversee contractors and manage projects from start to completion.
  • Ability to complete Haz-Mat training, safety programs, and meet minimum DOT qualifications and able to obtain any other Operator Qualifications as deemed necessary by the Supervisor.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interface with individuals inside and outside the company.
  • Qualified or can qualify to operate a manlift and forklift.
  • Able to speak, read, and write English and perform basic math.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.
Working Conditions

May have to work from heights, in confined spaces, working and stooping, kneeling, bending, and walking distances in all types of terrain. Frequently works in open environment with extremes of heat and cold, often in proximity to high voltage and/or chemicals, which requires safety accommodations such as protective clothing and equipment.
