Overview:
The Director of Mission Integration & Spiritual Care plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Mission is seamlessly woven into the daily operations and interactions within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership in Mission Integration within the senior living environment, focusing on the achievement of strategic goals as outlined by the Executive Director.
2. Act as the authority on Mission, core values, and heritage within the facility, collaborating with other leaders to ensure these principles are reflected in policies and practices.
3. Foster a culture that promotes pride and ownership in the Mission, helping employees find meaning and purpose in their work.
4. Support employee wellness and engagement initiatives to enhance retention and satisfaction.
5. Cultivate a spiritually enriching workplace by leading prayer sessions and theological discussions with staff.
6. Oversee the training and formation of staff, including initial orientation and ongoing development programs.
7. Ensure adherence to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Services, chairing the Ethics committee and facilitating ethics consultations for residents and families.
8. Guarantee that exceptional spiritual care is integrated throughout the continuum of care, especially at the end of life.
9. Manage religious services and programs for residents, ensuring the chapel is appropriately utilized and maintained.
10. Recruit and train volunteers, engaging with local clergy and faith communities as necessary.
11. Advocate for the needs of underprivileged individuals.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a Master's preferred in theology, healthcare, education, or a related field. Candidates should possess a working knowledge of operations and healthcare ethics, particularly the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. Familiarity with diverse spiritualities and the ability to work effectively within the Catholic Church framework is essential.
Experience:
Experience in working with the elderly is required, preferably in a healthcare setting. A minimum of two years in management roles is desired, along with at least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent training in pastoral care, with the intention of becoming a Board Certified Chaplain.
