Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in influencing the design and operation of the electric power grid. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting electrical engineering analyses and providing technical support for the planning and operation of the electric power system.
  • Implementing effective system modeling and developing tools to monitor and control system performance.
  • Performing system stability assessments and analyzing both simulated and actual operating results.
  • Identifying solutions for current and future system stability challenges and reporting findings with actionable recommendations.
Technical Duties
  • Designing and executing steady-state and dynamic contingency analyses using power system simulation models under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Running various scenarios to ensure robust results, analyzing study accuracy, and preparing comprehensive reports and presentations.
  • Structuring stability studies to determine operational limits of the system.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Reviewing stakeholder reports for technical accuracy and content.
  • Working independently on complex engineering projects and making informed decisions.
  • Leading multifunctional teams to gather input and address feedback during studies.
  • Utilizing advanced power system software applications and maintaining knowledge of industry best practices.
Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Required Experience:
Experience in the electric utility industry is preferred, particularly in roles similar to power system engineering.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with large-scale dynamic stability analyses, power system simulation tools, and programming automation tools is advantageous.

Work Location:
This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence as needed based on business requirements.
