Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in the Surgical Specialty Unit at University Hospital in Madison, WI. As a Weekend RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care on a 12-hour shift schedule, Friday-Sunday. Our unit provides excellent experience with airway management, including new tracheostomies, and offers opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing specialized procedures, including free flap monitoring and urinary diversion surgeries.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support and educate patients and families.
  • Participate in acuity-based staffing ratios to ensure optimal safety and quality care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • At least six months of nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact.
