Job Summary:

The EKG Technician is a vital member of the cardiovascular team at UofL Health, responsible for performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests to help diagnose and monitor heart conditions. As an EKG Technician, you will work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform EKG tests on adult, geriatric, neonatal, and adolescent patients
  • Utilize EKG computer systems to capture and analyze EKG data
  • Place Holter monitors and Event monitors as needed
  • Scan Holter tracings and perform quality control checks
  • Assist in cardiac and pulmonary stress testing
  • Perform equipment cleaning and maintenance
  • Provide patient, family, and hospital staff education on EKG procedures and results
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
