Forensic Chemist

NMS Labs is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Chemist to join our team in Willow Grove, PA. As a Forensic Chemist, you will be responsible for performing chemical and analytical testing, including the isolation and identification of chemical substances in forensic casework samples.

• Perform chemical and analytical testing, including the isolation and identification of chemical substances in forensic casework samples.
• Process and analyze forensic casework samples, including handling and sampling of evidence.
• Generate, interpret, and review test results, and release results as required.
• Maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures, and perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
• Communicate scientific findings to internal and external clients, and provide expert testimony as required.

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological science, or forensic science from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 16 semester credit hours in college-level chemistry coursework above General Chemistry, including coursework and labs in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Analytical (Instrumental) Chemistry.
• Licensed by the Texas Forensic Science Commission within 1 year of hire, as applicable.
• Preferred: ABC certified, court testimony experience, and transcripts attached to the application.

The Forensic Chemist must be able to:

• Hear and have vision (with correction) including color, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Stand, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to manipulate instruments or equipment controls, computer keyboard, office equipment, objects or tools.
• Sit and stand, sometimes for extended periods of time.
• Lift objects up to 20 lbs.
