OVERVIEW: This dynamic role involves generating essential financial assessments that bolster ALEC's financial documentation, investment portfolio, Asset/Liability Management (ALCO) framework, Budgeting, and Profitability Evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the maintenance of ALM software and guarantee precise monthly reporting, including reports for the Board of Directors, ALCO, Senior Management, and Responsibility Center (RC)
  • Examine financial data to create variance and forecasting reports
  • Develop spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to visually convey financial information
  • Analyze data affecting investment strategies, including price, yield, stability, and future trends
  • Remain informed on developments in business, finance, and economics
  • Track economic, industrial, and corporate trends through various resources
  • Formulate investment action plans based on financial evaluations
  • Investigate investment options and provide informed recommendations
  • Support budget and reforecasting processes
  • Assess profit and cost efficiencies across various organizational sectors
  • Create, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models
  • Assist the Accounting department in adhering to GAAP standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA certification is advantageous
  • Required Experience: Two (2) years in Accounting or Finance
  • Preferred Experience: Three (3) years in Accounting or Finance within a financial institution

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Capability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting data for effective communication with business leaders
  • Expertise in financial analysis utilizing various applications and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Familiarity with financial debt markets and US GAAP
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in utilizing computers and job-specific technology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform well under pressure

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional local and national travel for training and networking events
