Compensation:

The Target Pay Range for this role is $122,000.00 to $149,100.00 annually, with a full Pay Range of $94,000.00 to $176,500.00 annually. Compensation decisions are based on relevant skills, experience, and education. Individual qualifications will be considered when making an employment offer. Performance-based incentives are also available for the selected candidate.

Your Impact:

As the Credit Risk Analysis Manager, you will be instrumental in protecting and enhancing the financial stability of our Real Estate portfolios. You will lead efforts to identify and mitigate risks, shape credit policies, and influence critical decisions that contribute to our success. Your analytical skills will be vital in maintaining high standards and promoting growth through innovative risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Process Evaluation: Analyze risk management processes by reviewing data and collaborating with business unit personnel to validate and enhance practices.
  • Comprehensive Credit Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough credit risk assessments on loan portfolios to identify potential threats and opportunities, including evaluations of origination decisions and management strategies.
  • Statistical Analysis & Modeling: Assess and model current risk management strategies to monitor effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Scorecard Optimization: Utilize statistical analysis to enhance the application of industry or custom scorecards for various risk strategies.
  • Credit Risk Communication: Interpret credit risk analyses and develop narratives for senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Presentations to Leadership: Present findings and recommendations to the Credit Committee, providing clear and actionable insights.
  • Collaboration with Leadership: Work alongside Executive and Senior Leadership to align risk appetite and support credit risk initiatives across various areas.
  • Department Leadership: Drive departmental initiatives and administration in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Mentorship: Guide and train junior Credit Risk staff to support their professional growth.
  • Documentation & Procedures: Ensure all functions within your responsibilities are well-documented and current.
  • Vendor Oversight: Manage vendor contracts to ensure quality and cost-effective services for BECU members.
  • Operational Reporting: Conduct necessary operational audits and management information reporting.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with internal and external resources to design programs that advocate for employees and members.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant credit risk analytics experience.
  • Proficiency in quantitative software and database querying tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python).
  • Experience with data visualization and presentation software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Previous experience in Mortgage and Home Equity credit risk analytics.
  • Ability to build cohesive cross-functional teams and facilitate collaborative decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proven ability to collect relevant data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word) with a quick learning ability for new software.
