This team manages all facets of electric distribution and transmission operations, encompassing planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, and emergency response.

Position Summary:

In the role of a Transmission Cableman, your responsibilities will include monitoring and evaluating underground transmission lines, executing maintenance tasks, and operating equipment pertinent to underground line operations. A valid Class B California Driver's License is required, and the position may involve switching, structure upkeep, and emergency response duties.

This role falls under the Department of Transportation and is subject to random drug and alcohol screenings.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and evaluate underground transmission lines
  • Execute maintenance and construction tasks on underground lines
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Identify and resolve issues promptly
  • Travel and operate in various locations
  • Work on live lines as necessary
  • Ensure safety protocols when working in confined spaces
  • Assist or lead a team in transmission tasks
Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of experience in high voltage electrical construction roles
  • Completion of a lineworker apprenticeship
  • Experience in interpreting technical diagrams
  • Capability to lift heavy loads and work under diverse conditions
  • Valid driver's license and readiness to travel
  • Completion of mandatory company training
  • Additional requirements for both internal and external candidates
Desired Qualifications:
  • Reside in proximity to headquarters for emergency response
  • Prior experience in lineworker positions
  • Familiarity with underground network systems
  • Experience in electrical maintenance
  • Class A California Driver's License with Hazmat Endorsement
  • Knowledge of transmission systems
  • Basic computer and mobile device proficiency
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work safely on energized lines
