Position Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse within a medical office or outpatient care environment, your primary responsibility will be to deliver nursing services to patients in a clinical setting. You will work collaboratively with a healthcare team to enhance care quality, boost operational efficiency, and elevate the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care and coordinate necessary services within the nursing practice framework.
- Accurately document patient interactions in medical records.
- Engage in telephone triage and provide guidance based on established protocols.
- Monitor and log ordered tests, presenting results to the healthcare provider.
- Prepare for patient visits, administer medications, check vital signs, and update medication records.
- Assist with health maintenance requirements and various procedures/examinations.
- Adhere to safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate patient conditions to providers and assist with inquiries and documentation.
- Conduct lab tests, perform venipuncture, and collect specimens.
- Provide discharge summaries to patients and manage vaccine/pharmaceutical orders.
Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to perform various physical tasks and handle weights up to 35 pounds. There may be potential exposure to communicable diseases. Proficiency in Basic English and intact sensory and manual dexterity are essential.
Qualifications:
Must possess a current LPN license in NC or SC, be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program, have medical office experience preferred, and hold a BLS certification.
