Position: Body Shop Production Manager/Estimator

Salary Range: $60,000 to $85,000 annually based on experience

Lee Auto Malls is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee our busy body shop in Auburn as a Production Manager/Estimator. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the vehicle repair process, ensuring that each vehicle has a thorough and precise repair strategy. Your duties will encompass conducting detailed evaluations of vehicle damage to formulate comprehensive repair plans, identifying all required parts and additional labor needs, and fostering clear communication to avert production delays and reduce the necessity for multiple supplements. Your meticulous attention to detail and effective coordination with various teams will be essential in delivering top-notch repairs and maintaining streamlined production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair Plan Development: Guarantee that a thorough pre-repair assessment is conducted on every vehicle to establish a complete and precise repair plan, minimizing the need for multiple supplements. Make informed decisions regarding sublet repair processing as necessary and coordinate the timing of sublet work to maintain low overall cycle times.
  • Daily Production Coordination: Collaborate closely with the estimating team to devise the daily production schedule, including the movement of vehicles across departments.
  • Estimator Liaison: Act as the intermediary between customers and insurance adjusters as required.
  • Work Assignment Distribution: Utilize knowledge of each staff member's skills, experience, and capabilities to appropriately assign vehicles to technicians. Conduct daily meetings with each technician to discuss work assignments and schedules.
  • Technician Staff Coordination: Oversee work quality and provide daily feedback and coaching to technicians.
  • Work Assignment Management: Allocate tasks to the appropriate Body/Refinish Technician.
  • Shop Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate the upkeep of shop equipment, either personally or through the necessary vendor.
  • OEM Certification Maintenance: Ensure compliance with OEM Certified requirements as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of collision repair processes acquired through a minimum of 2 years of hands-on industry experience.
  • Familiarity with CCC One production management is preferred.
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding the repair process, parts, and timing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning through participation in industry-required training.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
