Your Role


Koch Industries is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to lead and support our operations.

In this position, you will report to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in the realm of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). You will work closely with front-line leaders and collaborate with various business partners to enhance the capabilities of the production team in relation to EHS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver transformational leadership and influence to realize the EHS vision through strong management commitment and employee engagement.
  • Design and align facility EHS programs and strategies in accordance with the overarching business EHS plan.
  • Prepare necessary environmental permits and EHS documentation.
  • Promote a workplace culture where employees are empowered to exercise their decision-making rights regarding EHS matters.
  • Lead the creation of risk assessment methodologies for identifying and evaluating potential hazards.
  • Enhance awareness of critical hazards to minimize at-risk behaviors.
  • Establish an effective change management process.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to set short and long-term EHS objectives, targets, and strategies that prioritize risk mitigation; create and sustain a safety committee.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training systems tailored to plant requirements.
  • Conduct regular management reviews and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Encourage a collaborative EHS environment involving all employees, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of four years of leadership experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in EHS leadership in a manufacturing context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or Biological Science.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and reporting.
  • Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP).
  • Experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Knowledge in Hazardous Energy Control, Mobile Equipment, and Pedestrian Safety Management.
