Design Complex Systems for Amentum

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Controls Designer to join our team at Amentum. As an I&C Designer, you will work on designing and developing complex systems for various industries, including aerospace and automotive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and drafting jobs, preparing drawing lists, and coordinating with engineers, detailers, and checkers.
  • Solve engineering problems and develop designs using standard engineering practices.
  • Perform complex drafting assignments, working from engineering computations, verbal instructions, or rough sketches.
  • Evaluate the functional feasibility of designs and their conformance to specifications.

Requirements:

  • Certifications of two (2) years training from a vocational training school or two (2) years college with courses relevant to drafting or engineering principles.
  • Associates degree in electrical, controls, or electronics engineering is a plus.
  • Knowledge in the use of drafting software (AutoCAD and 3D modeling) and equipment, and in the application of drafting principles.
  • Familiarity with controls hardware and a general working knowledge of shop and field erection processes associated with electrical design.

Work Environment:

The work will mainly be performed in an inside office environment. Travel may be required to attend customer meetings.
